Summer Historical Theatre

The South County Historical Society presents a free, family-friendly summer program of short theatre pieces every Saturday at 2 PM at the IOOF Hall (details).

Harvest Festival & Parade
Old-fashioned family fun abounds at the Harvest Festival. The Harvest Festival serves as a tribute to agriculture, the area's leading industry. Among the many attractions are a parade, toe-tapping entertainment, agricultural exhibits, and an array of food, game, and arts and crafts booths. (details)

 

2011 Summer Concert Series, Rotary Bandstand, Heritage Square Park - Each concert will celebrate the music of one of the ten decades from 1911 to 2011. Concert dates are 6/12, 6/26, 7/4, 7/9, 7/10, 7/24, 8/7, 8/21, 9/4 & 9/18. Click here to download the 2011 concert schedule.

2011 - Historical Programs - To help celebrate Arroyo Grande's Centennial, the The South County Historical Society announces "100 Years of People - Stories from our Past," a weekly series of programs beginning Saturday, June 4th and continuing every Saturday through the summer.

The short programs held at the IOOF Hall, 128 Bridge St (across from McLintocks) will begin at 2PM each Saturday, lasting 45 minutes to an hour, and will include dramatic stories and plays about the experiences of early inhabitants, some surprising events from the past, and the amusing antics of local kids in a bygone age. Churches, social organizations and schools are being contacted and encouraged to participate in the Centennial by either organizing or sponsoring an event or activity or by working the Centennial into their curriculum. Types of events or activities could include, but are not limited to speech contests, re-enactments, dances, essay contests, costume contests, game booths or food booths.
